Brake Line Union
« on: February 06, 2010, 02:41:08 PM »
On the passenger side there is a union between the two parts of the brake line.  Are these reproduced?  The local parts store has brass ones but they don't look the same.  I think my original was steel becouse it is badly rusted so I would like to replace it.  If they aren't made I'll have to try to salvage it.

The union was steel with a zinc dichromate finish (same as the flare nuts on the ends of the brake lines). I was not able to find an acceptable reproduction, but in a pinch the brass one will work and most judges will miss it. But now that I have said that, the other judges on the forum will look for it at the MCA shows this year!

That's okay by the time I get this car done they will have forgotten again.  :)
