I'm in the process of restoring the console on my '66 Sprint 200 convertible. The interior of the the glove box area appears to have a sprayed on flocking material applied to it. Is this correct?
How about a source for new spray-on material?

Eastwood was offering a re-flocking kit last year. I haven't found it listed lately but you might give them a call.

I buy flocking material from a hobby shop. Brush or spray glue and sprinkle it on.

What works better?? Brush or spray?? Any specific beands Charles??

I've used the 3M spray glue before. Just have to be careful with the over-spray, but it comes right off with some mineral spirits.

The tunnel screws are correct. The screw on the top with flared shoulder is what would be typical for attaching the console to the bracket.

A good question for everyone on this bracket. When you bolt the bracket to the tunnel, What's the best way to slide the console in on top of the bracket? I know that the console can be a pain in the butt to put in when the bract is in there. I would assume thet the passenger side seat must be removed. Also 2nd question, What's the correct orientation of the bracket for everyone here, I forget myself after all these years.. I would have to look in a assembly manual...lol..

A good question for everyone on this bracket. When you bolt the bracket to the tunnel, What's the best way to slide the console in on top of the bracket?
It just lays on top of the bracket and I use a very small screw driver to locate and line up the holes in the console to the ones in the bracket. The fun part is holding down the console door springs while you insert the mounting screw through the spring, through the console and into the bracket clips. Some times you can do this with the door closed but you have to go with touch since your view is then blocked. Use to rebuild and sell allot of 65-66 consoles (would buy them from shops at twenty or so at a time) back in the 80's

For me its easier just to remove both seats so one can get to the side screws with ease

What is the correct color of the inside of the console glove box? Is it black or color-keyed to the console?

My 66 console(blue) has black flocking inside the glove box.

One last question: What is the correct detailing of the chrome ribs on the top plate and glove box door? I'm thinking it is chrome ribs with argent paint in between, but would like confirmation or correction.

Chrome fins with frosted appearance on the rest. You may be able to accomplish with paint.
