Title: Space saver spare hold down bracket on 69 Boss 429
Post by: BB69429 on July 29, 2016, 10:11:27 AM
Does any one know the correct method of attaching the noted bracket to the floor on the left hand side of the trunk There are weld nuts in the car that has a  pattern very close to a repro bracket available in the market, but not sure if this is correct and what type of fastener was used to attach it to the body.  The weld inserts are a 12-32 thread. I have also read that this bracket was welded to the floor. Any help or photos would be greatly appreciated

The bracket is not welded to the trunk floor. Spare HDB is bolted down to 4 riv nuts that are on the driverside trunk floor.

correct sean except I see the jack laying the other direction with the base flat end under the tire laying against the trunk drop. But in 70 b9 the j-bolt was longer & jack was mounted on top of tire & trunk mat layed all the way against the qtr panel side & was cut out around the ss brackets.
