Title: Cleaning Durafin Car Cover
Post by: sparky65 on October 06, 2016, 11:37:58 PM
I'm sure lots of guys here use these car covers.  Its the heavy flannel Durafin cover.  For some reason mine has mold growing on one side of it.  Its never gotten wet that I know of so no idea why it started.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to clean this?

As they say in real estate - location, location, location. New Jersey is "damp".
The sure cure for mold is bleach. Try a spray bottle with a 50/50 mix bleach and water in a small area first.

Steve,
Just came across this post.  Just to confirm the prior post, a MILD solution of bleach to water can be used.  50/50 is a max amount of bleach.  You need to stay away from getting the material really wet.  Durafin covers and water are not friendly as the material will shrink.  Confirmed all this with the manufacturer.

Scott
