what would a accepted fuel pump be for a 66 sj k code built 11/06/65, 4201's are out there! date code?

The date code you should be interested in would be 1 to 4 weeks prior to the engine assembly date. The pictures show where it's located. Fred Ballard fredsclassics@hotmail.com would be a good starting point to find one. Note the fuel pump in the first picture. Fred rebuilt it.

You can consider yourself lucky to find one at all let alone one with the correct date code. They are rare. Just thought I would mention it so if you are lucky enough to find one but doesn't have the correct date code think that you will easily find another to choose from . It could happen and I hope it does for you but wanted to make you aware. FYI date codes are only relevant in the most difficult of judged classes. I have seen way to many fixate on a date code for a particular part and forget about many other more easy to do details throughout the entire car. Best of luck with your build.

Yup Fred is your guy. About 2 years ago, I sold a CARbureTER 4201S, Date Code 4A6A (1/4/66) to him. Believe it or not I came across this fuel pump by accident. I bought a worn out 64, 260 with C4 transmission from a guy in Delaware to get the auto trans kick down linkage that was missing on my 65. I tore down the 260 to part out and low and behold there was an authentic 4201S fuel pump! I have no clue how that fuel pump got on that motor. Sold the fuel pump for much, much more than I paid for the engine and trans. Be prepared to pay big bucks if you find one.
