Title: 69 Lower dash or steering column bracket?
Post by: bjf1992 on February 27, 2017, 04:41:10 PM: I've attached a picture of what I believe is a steering column bracket. However, I'm not sure. Can anyone shed light on what this is? I've already reinstalled my dash and I found this in another bin of parts from the car.

It appears to be a lower dash bracket that goes just to the right side of the steering column. It attaches to the lower right side bolt of the master cylinder and then to a bolt in the lower dash.

The reason for this is unknown to me and I have never heard any explanation for this ? This one is from my car ; has the repair and a date stamp. Might be better to call this a brace rather than a bracket ? Mounting points are the pedal support and lower dash. Brian
