Title: 1970 Mach 1 Mustang script location on fender
Post by: Mach1-351C on March 17, 2017, 02:08:23 AM
After researching online for just a little bit, I'm still not sure what is correct regarding the front fender "Mustang" script location on a '70 Mach 1.  Mine are high, about 3-1/4" above Mach 1 molding, but most others that I've seen seem much lower.  Is there a right or wrong here?

Here's  a 100% stock 70 hardtop we have restored. The emblem and position are factory original.

First welcome to the site. Hope you find the information and help useful in your concours related endeavours

You will likely find out quickly one thing that will be needed when you post any question is when and where your car was built. You provided that its a 70 but where was it built and do you know the month?

We have found that many details can differ between plants and time periods and until we focus we often don't notice the differences, so we're discovering new things all the time.

Will wait to see what your repsone is.

From my Marti report, it's a Dearborn car, built on 4/10/70

Thanks

So here are 7 examples of what Dearborn was doing around (before and after) your car was built there. All are unrestored examples as usual

Hope this helps

Thanks for the help.  This looks more "correct" to me as I can't recall seeing other '70s with the script mounted as high as mine

That is what we're here for. They do appear (in the examples) pretty consistent
