Title: 1968 Headrests
Post by: stillboardin on February 24, 2010, 09:24:57 AM
I have the factory 1968 headrests in my coupe and am trying to get info on the best way to fix splits and cracks in them.  At first I thought that buying covers from a 69 would work but since the originals were more of a vinyl covered foam I don't think that would look very good.

Is there a way, short of sending them off to Just Dashes, to fix them?

I don't know of any way you could possibly fix those and make them look correct.  It would take a lot of time for a vinyl repair man to do it and you would still see irregularities in the surface.  I would recommend finding a better pair or if you aren't too concerned about originality, have vinyl or leather covers custom made to match the seats.

Should be able to purchase some original/factory style material and have any good uph shop cover them
