SEAT BELTS
« on: May 13, 2010, 07:17:12 PM »
Sent my original frt and rear seatbelts to a well known restorer for quote.
The quote came back at just shy of $700!

I don't mind spending the money, if that's on par with what concours belts are expected to cost?

Is this about right?

It seems awfully high.

I THOUGHT they were pretty good shape, guess not.
They show needing:

1 Front boot                $35
4 Recolor rear boots      $48

4 Specification labels     $80

Thanks Charles.
It's my understanding that Python doesn't have the capabilities that the other folks have.... Like new boots and new seam covers etc?

Python Restorations do the best work, not sure who gave you that incorrect information.... contact Stewart and let him give you a price.

I just bought a set for my 70 Mach1 from Python.  I haven't received them yet, but they did send me a picture of them and they look great.  Python came in about half of another place I got a quote.  Python put the correct date coded labels on them.

Update:  I received them and they look great!

Python did mine, absolutely beautiful. Cost was around 700, but that was w/new retractors fo lap belts and replated mount bolts. Also, it was a GT-500 w/shoulder belts.

I just picked up a set of 67 belts at the OK show that Stewart (Python Restoration) did for me. His work IMO is far better than the competition and far cheaper. He re-used the boots on the rear belts, stitched new, exact matched date coded tags, and did an outstanding buckle restoration and re-webbing.

Regards,
Pete Morgan

Thanks for the heads up re: Python Restorations.  I gave them a call and am going to send them the deluxe belts for my 66 fastback to be restored.

For 1968, comparing standard seat belts to deluxe seat belts, is there any difference besides the plastic chrome trim?

Two thumbs up for Python. He did a set of emberglo deluxe for my '66 convertible and a set for my '67 GT350. Excellent work!
