1979 5.0 LX 5speed Convertible.....
« on: December 27, 2015, 08:05:31 AM »
I'm thinking this is a bit rare......

I know the very early Fox bodies there were not GTs made until '82.......

So the "LX" trim then........

Wonder what one would be worth in restorable condition?

There were no factory built or Ford sponsored convertibles in 1979. If any were built, it was done by custom coach companies such as AHA, Bluvac, etc. Even then, they were often 6 cylinder automatic cars.

There are rumors of some here and there such ax the 79 Pace Car convertible which ended up in the Sac. Area.

And the "LX" trim didn't start until the 1984 model year.

In 1979 there were only two trim levels: [base] and Ghia.
