Some interesting collector car data to share
« on: December 29, 2016, 05:54:49 PM »
While getting some tires rotated at the tire shop yesterday I picked up a month old C&D magazine and found some information in one of the editorals interesting. Some of the details were not surprising but thought the information might be interesting to others here.

- There are between 18 and 20 million cars (according to Haggerty) that qualify as custom, collectable, antique or classics in the US

- The top five states for ownership are
1- California
2- Michigan
3- New York state
4- Florida
5- Texas

- The most popular cars
1- Corvette
2- Mustang
3- Camaro
4- Chevy Bel Air (55-57)
5- Ford Model A
6- Ford T-Birds
7- C10 pickups
8- Chevelle

I'm in Ma. and own 2 drag pack Mustangs and 2 drag pack Torinos.
Also a 69 Chevelle ss 396.
Where I'm at it's mostly Chevy country with tons of Camaros.
I like my Fords where I'm always a crowd pleaser with something
different.

Corvette, Mustang, and Camaro, none of them need to be Classic or Vintage, to make the list.
The list would look much different if they only included cars/trucks from 1979 and older.
