Thanks Jim. I have references from Ford manuals. As we know that isn't always what ended up in cars. Can someone relay their findings from original cars?

After 50 years, you expect original?
If I was a 67 judge, knew my distributors and carburetors, and saw something I knew was not specified, I would be suspicious. The "book" (read any documentation) may be incorrect, but what is found in a car isn't the best method.
On the other hand, if you come up with something different and have a source, I'll be grateful for some input and will update the info I've entered.

I'm not saying ended up as in owner modified but what Ford did. A good example is 68 428 cj distributors. The books show 2 versions, I can name 5 that were used

If true, I would like the Ford numbers, a source and any other info you have.

Thanks for the input Jim but with all due respect I don't have time to write a research paper right now, I just wanted some information
For those reading who this might benefit I have had reported to me from several known original cars a 67 S code 4 speed mustang uses either C7OE A or C. C is thermactor, all others A. The A matches with the C7OE H distributor. The C uses either C7OE F or G
