saving original tail shaft seal (manual transmission)

Anyone have any suggestions on removal original tail shaft seal? Looking to preserve my original seal and re-install after re detailing 4spd 1969 close ratio RUG-AE2 transmission.

Have no idea of how you can remove it without damage so lets discuss attacking this from a different angle. Since there is little to the tailshaft housing other than the housing, bushing and seal is there anything wrong or it it too worn on either the bushing or seal? If not I think an evapo rust soak, a good rinse and dry would work. Not sure how your treating the main case but you will need to match that final look but if your creative I think that will be doable also.

I am looking at phosphating (boil) then oil on both the tail shaft and gear box.
Yes the trans case and tail housing is clean enough for a good soak in evapo-rust.
It is the detail afterwards with the original seal still in place that concerns me leaving it in.

That is what I want to avoid.
The replacement rear seals are not like the originals, so hoping to figure out a way.
