Correct Finish - Exhaust clamps and hangers

(1/1)

OK, we all do it maybe just don't admit it. While seated behind my car during judging I overheard the judge mention the rust on my exhaust clamps.  This will be one of the things I suspect will be noted on the scoring sheet I requested and I look forward to all of their feedback and opportunity to make improvements.  Knowing this could possibly be a noted observation what would be the correct finish for the clamps and hangers (phosphate & oil?)?  This is for my Dearborn, December 71 Mach 1.  Thank you

CharlesTurner:
Is this a restored or unrestored car?  On a restored car, no rust would be expected.  Best thing to do with natural steel parts is blast/tumble them and then coat with a rust preventative like Boeshield.

It is a restored car.  From your comments then it would be natural finish?  Thank you.

Correct. Metal can be a bit brighter in turns/bends since the metal was stretched
