64 1/2 K code Leaf Spring Markings

(1/1)

FXguy:
Wondering if anyone has info (other examples) on these markings I found on the leaf springs for this June K code convertible.  There is a white daub on top of each that looks to have been applied after assembly (see partial where the band was originally.  The markings on the other side run the length of the print from near the forward bushing to the center mounting hole.  Only a few inches of these markings are visible after assembly.  The only other markings are the green and yellow daubs on the shortest spring.  These pics were taken fresh out of the Evaporust.

TIA.

No haven't found markings there before. Of course they would not be visible on an assembled spring but when disassembling them haven't found markings of individual leaves.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the quick reply Jeff.  With the springs assembled a few inches of the longer markings will show near the forward bushing.  I'm going to recreate all of these so don't be surprised if you see these in-person in the near future  :D

BTW, I've seen a white stripe at the rear on some early K coupes, but this is the first time I've seen this towards the front and in this style.

I've not see a white mark on those early K codes. How early are you referring to and from what plant?

One had a planned date of June 8th, the other June 9th, both Dearborn, and both had Los Angeles DSOs.
