Is this door skin factory or NOS?
« on: June 10, 2017, 10:39:50 AM »
I'm doing some bodywork on my Metuchen-built '67 coupe (built December '66).  The passenger's side door skin was bare metal inside (other than sound deadener), but the driver's side door skin is red oxide primer and has a Ford part number painted onto it.  I both door skins pictured below for comparison.  Is the driver's door skin original to the car, or has it already been replaced once?

Also, is the sound deadener material correct?  It almost looks like a thick tar, whereas the passenger's side had the sprayable sound deadener that I'm more used to seeing.

Thanks, that confirms my suspicions.  It also explains why the door on that side never fit well.  If only these cars could talk...  :D
