"Specify Autolite" air cleaner decal
69RavenConv:
Is the "Specify Autolite" air cleaner decal appropriate for a June '69 Dearborn-built F-code (302-2V) convertible? I've owned the car since the 70's and don't recall this decal but that doesn't mean it wasn't there at some point.
Now that winter is here I thought I would do some cleanup and detailing and I found this decal in my parts bin and it piqued my interest. I have the C8AF-9600-C version, Element No. FA-50; I know there are others (like the C80F pictured below). A quick search didn't turn up anything - apologies if it's been answered elsewhere.

My initial response would be no that is not the specific/correct sticker for a 1970 F code air cleaner. The number you provided (C8AF-9600-C) is different from what buildsheets of cars like yours show that's not the right engineering number
Will see what else I can find in the morning :)
69RavenConv:
Just to clarify, my car is a '69. Thanks for the quick response, Jeff!

Sorry - yes quick but off target a bit ::) That's what I get for helping out at 2 am
Will check and get back if someone else does not beat me to it

Looks like you may have the right sticker for your car
Buildsheets identify what appears to be the same air cleaner number - no listing of filter number and don't have a clear original that is readable
Looks like allot of these were applied further rearward (counter clock wise) than some other types on other engines from about 3 o'clock to slightly rearward as shown in these two original examples. Interesting note is that non-shaker 351's share the same filter as so likely the same sticker as the one your askign about
Hope this helps
