'68 302, Correct clip for lower Z-bar attachment to adjustment rod?

(1/2) > >>

CharlesTurner:
The assembly manual shows a circular style clip to attach the lower part of the shift Z-bar to the adjusting rod/pin.  The upper is a slide clip according to the assembly manual and supported by what I've seen on original cars.  Seems strange that the lower one would be different.

Any input?  The car is a late April '68 Metuchen GT350 4sp convertible.

No, it's a circular clip, like I've seen on Hurst shift rods.

Charles I’ve never seen anything but the hairpin clip on the lower Rod

Me either, just wanted to make sure based on what is in the assembly manual.
