1970 hood vs 1969 hood difference
« on: January 11, 2010, 10:04:05 PM »
Thought I would start a new post since there was discussion in another thread....

here is what I have found to be diff on the 2 years....very slight on the underside but for a concourse car will be easy to spot..

top side seems no difference?

bottom side:
1) the front corners on the underside are slightly diff.........see pic

2)the area for hood pins has a oval shape in 70 for twist locks....round in 69 for hood pins
3) next to the hood latch there was an indent on the bracing the hood latch bolts to ....this was on a 'late' 70 hood at least on a March build car.....seems there was a change on this?
There is a 'D' indent on early 70 model(before Jan 70? and maybe on 69 model hoods

also hoods have a date code on drivers edge on underside

What have you guys noticed?

Shift your camera to the left, and down, compare the indention for the air cleaner between '69 and '70 and I think you will see what I refer to .
