May 70 Dearborn Boss 2

Should the underside of the stone guard be body  color or red oxide  (or other) primer?

Both ;)

Think of it this way - part is primed then the top, leading and rear edge are painted. Painting both edges produced overspray over the bottom surface and the sharp 90 degree edge produced a shadow while allowing paint through openings in that edge. This should help - notice the shadow along the rear edge of the panel in this 70 Deaarborn example

Great!  Thank you.   I had thought that it was done like the front valance, so I did  it right. I was second guessing myself today when I was looking at some pictures.
