65-66 Fastback Vent baffles?

While re-doing the vents in my FB we came across what I believe are baffles for wind noise attached to the vent.  Am I correct?  There are 2 of them.  (I know my car is modified.  Can I be the token one among all the concours cars here?  LOL)

I just put mine back together and yes there are two stamped
metal plates or baffles that are used on each side of the car.

Guess your discribing the two semi-gloss black panels

Do not know their design purpose but a baffle for noise is as good as anything
