66 San Jose GT Coupe - Unrestored Pictures
« on: August 17, 2013, 07:21:47 PM »
Disclaimer: :) As always we need to warn that unrestored does not always mean unaltered by previous owners. Just because this car has/had a specific detail does not mean your car was built just the same. Always do your research, document your findings and make the best choice for you and your expectations.

Cars' VIN is -  6R07A1793xx Car shows some damage repair but allot of the car remains untouched - the reason it got my attention and camera time. Pictures were taken while the car was at a local show earlier this year. Cars projected completion date was March 31th 1966

Enjoy

ENGINE COMPARTMENT

Engine compartment to body color transition

Firewall sealant example

Paint inspector stamps

INTERIOR

Dash area

UNDERCARRIAGE

Sound deadener overspray from wheel well application

Bunch of things in this picture. Dolly mark, black overspray from pinchweld application and wear marks from tie down bracket

Pinch weld black out and overspray on floor pan

Floor pan pinch weld overspray. Note because of the exterior color it will not show up well against the red oxide plus it appears the floor pans have been scrubbed and cleaned

Front wheelwell sound deadener pattern -

TRUNK

Nice divider panel behind rear seat cushion and frame

Dumdum covering the rear bumper guard bracket hole since they were left off on a GT

Rear quarter extension trunk detail- notice that the studs have body color (placed on car loosely before exterior color applied) and one retailing nut has color on it - typical of this year and plant.

Cool Studio Sonic (Reverb) mounted in the trunk. Since these were dealer/owner installed  you find them mounted in allot of different locations

Thanks for those Jeff they are great.

Do you happen to have any more showing the routing of the wiring around the engine bay and fog lights. I've got a early May SJ if you know any notable differences.
Cheers

In those four spots  (at least for the bumper guards) at that plant and year ;)

Didn't focus on the wiring but here are a few pictures that relate - hope they help

Not missing - never there. Not sure why rust fascinates others so much that they purchase cars with it  :)

Guess I'll never understand  ???
