Title: Radiator Line Connections

Can you transfer the auto transmission line connectors from one radiator to another?

What finish should they be?

What is the purpose of the rod that attaches at the midway point from side rail to side rail, is this a safety measure so the core doesn't get too much stress from the wind?

As long as the application is the same, year for year and the same application. In other words you don't want to try making a 69 FMX set of lines fit a 65 C4

The lines (if I remember correctly - but surely someone will remark if I screwed up) were tin dipped originally. Would guess that the reproductions are zinc coated

The rods attached in the middle of some radiators are often missing (left off by rebuilders) I think are just designed to hold the side straps in place or deforming outward. I'm sure they could bend outward from a number of things.

What about the fuel line from fuel pump to carburator?

IMHO no it would not be feasible- you might get a shop to dip it (if they have a large tank) in zinc and then tone that down

Same goes from the pump to carburator the challenge would be getting the fitting off of the end
