Were the inner fender splash shields installed before or after sound deadener? 71 Dearborn car. MCA judging info stated there could sound deadener overspray on shields.  Thanks

Was engine bay paint applied to fender aprons before or after sound deadener? If after, would paint overspray be on splash shields.   Thanks

Engine compartment was applied after body color before anything other than the normal (doors, trunk lid, rear valance sort of parts) parts were installed

Normally engine compartment black (that plant and year) would not be applied that far rearward or that far outward on those cars. But they we're there until much much later in the assembly process - long after all of the drivetrain parts and suspension

Short answer - no
