1967 GT 350 (Early 10/66) Washer Foot Pump - Paint Finish
« on: April 01, 2018, 08:04:48 PM »
What was the correct paint finish for the frame and lever, semi gloss black or dark charcoal metallic (or something else maybe)? The 2 I have look almost like they could be the charcoal but of course they are old.

Thanks.

+1
Plus, the rivets are zinc that hold the switch as well as the rivet that is the hinge

+1 A part that was finished at the supplier and not painted the interior color matching the "black" interiors ;)

Thanks all.

Probably a stupid question : when restoring this and you wish to dismantle it for better cleaning/painting.
Can it put together like it was originally done?
Is it possible to find those rivets?
Or is it better to tape everything of?
Kind regards,
Jeroen

I tape off everything. If it is really bad it is easier to get a different one.

I cleaned everything, scrubbed rivets down and when ready for paint after masking everything that can be taped, I dabbed some grease onto the rivets carefully, as not to get any onto the bracket I am focusing the new paint onto. It came out very nice.

Thank you for your replies.
Looks taping off is the best way to go.
Will do that also :)
