1967 Mustang / 1967 Front Bumper Overstamped Factory Codes
« Last post by kkupec02 on April 26, 2024, 01:26:33 PM »
I have been looking for a matching date stamped front bumper to match my factory original rear bumper. I came across a front bumper locally that I bought for $30 with over stamps. I assume it is a factory replacement part but couldn't go wrong for that price while I continue the search.  The date codes are top line: 11 over stamped on an 8, then 6 2 M 2 with the M over stamped on a 9 or vice versa. Lower line: upside down 2 then 6 7, then 8 1 with something under the 8 maybe a 1? Any guesses on what I bought? Thinking early over the counter replacement. Thanks.

1969 Mustang / Mach one hood treatment
« Last post by DaveF on April 26, 2024, 11:19:56 AM »
I?m getting ready to paint the hood stripes on my Mach One. I am having difficulty figuring out what type of paint to use. My old stripes were matte black, with some notable texture. Is there someone that can let me know how to make authentic stripes. If you recommend products, please be specific. I would appreciate exact paint code numbers if possible. Thanks

I restored / modified this car to an extremely high standard as a 'life experience' for the lack of a better term. Originally a lime gold 302-2V auto convertible with dark ivy gold standard interior. I couldn't bring myself to restore the car to an 'as delivered' condition especially since the original engine and transmission were long gone.

Once I made the determination to go GT500 clone, I needed some references to go by. This website was the best reference I had during the build. I learned more here than anywhere else. Questions I couldn't find answers to by going through old posts were answered one at a time by many contributors but especially Bob Gaines and Jeff Speegle.

I found I liked looking at the car better than driving it so I sold it very recently. Thanks to all that helped.

1968 Mustang / Re: 1968 fastback seats

Fun facts

Comfortweave was not used on convertibles (including Mustangs)

GT500 KRs fastbacks with black interiors got the comfortweave

There was no saddle comfortweave in Shelbys

Some 68 GT 350 got comfortweave too.

Thanks for all your responses! I understand that there can be factory specific details but this is quite sufficient ;-) Again Thanks!

A previous car of mine, a DB build mid-Dec 64 fastback had the early-style slide plate/carriage bolt spare tire hold down. 5F09C376xxx .
