I looked through the brake master cylinder cap guide and did not see the one I've attached as a picture. Any help identifying the application would be appreciated.
The stamping says
USE ONLY
SAE J1703
BRAKE
FLUID
I do have one that is in the guide and has this stamping
USE ONLY
SAE 70 R3
BRAKE
FLUID

John,are you aware that the cap is supposed to have a sticker applied on top obscuring the stamping once in place?

Looks like the reference to that particular fluid goes back to at least mid 1967 so it might be period correct but for another make or manufacturer of the period

Do have pictures of that cap being in a Ford box (service replacement) with the part number C8OZ-2162-A Have no idea of what year or decade the part was made and stamped
Guessing your too has a vent in the upper left corner that is out of site in your picture

To add to the discussion apparently the caps were commonly plated zinc dichromate up to late 68 and after that time were only Zinc Silver. That finish can sometimes help date them all things equal . The only catch is that under the dipped chromate gold dye is a silver base so it can be confusing.
