Title: Engine Block Stamp
Post by: rntwinters on April 17, 2017, 04:45:47 PM
Howdy,

I have 65 T code Coupe,

Hoping to get an answer here, I found this stamped on the driver's side of the engine block and I can't find any information online as to what this code means.

SDT 2908

The block casting number is: C5DE 6015-H (Early 200 I-6, 5 freeze plugs).

Thanks in advance.

IMHO Looks like a rebuilders stamp to identify a customer or invoice number. They come in all sorts of configuration

Thanks,

That would make sense as it didn't look like a factory stamp or even a date code, and it's in an odd place.

+1 for rebuilder mark... maybe SD initials and 7/29/08 the date, or SDT 2/9/08?
