I notice on the side scoop in the upper back corner there is a dip in the scoop. I seem to find the same dip on most of the pictures I have found for reference. Is this normal from the factory or from over time of maybe over tightening? Thanks for any input.

Just checked it out and yes very slight depression at the upper ext. corner. Very slight and difficult to see actually can only be seen when sighting down the side of the car. Brian

It is very common and I would say probably half of them had the depression. I don't believe it was from over tightening since there is no mounting stud directly behind that area. Having had many of them still in original paint, I would say it is just a little factory defect.

Perfect, thanks!

Interesting, as I was just going to post on this. I've owned my car since the mid seventies and have never noted this until last week. Was fixing to post on it. My car is going through a restoration and I'm considering have these depressions filled in.

I was wondering if it was a first iteration vs second of the part, but I see you are 9F02H205917 and I'm 9R02M123247.
My car predates the pot metal quarter panel extension caps, it has fiberglass ones.
I'll check my scoops when I'm home.
