Title: 4 speed shifter handle reverse tab question
Post by: jtrue on June 12, 2017, 08:28:28 PM
Does anyone know how far the reverse tab should stick out from the handle? As you can see, someone ground or cut mine off. Thanks

Mark

Should be flush.

So you're saying it looks right as is? If so, I don't understand how it keeps  the shifter from going into reverse until handle is pulled up.

At rest the tab should be flush with the base.  Your cable is stretched and it won't work as-is.  Bill Heeley in Maryland rebuilds/restores these shifters.
