Hi all, I have noticed Ford installed a ground strap from the engine to the firewall on Mustangs up to 67. This is just an observation with no facts to substantiate. I have looked through my Osborne wiring guide and other schematics and can't figure out if Ford used a ground strap on my 69.
Is there suppose to be another grounding strap in addition to the battery cable?
Thank you.

Yes the 69 428 CJ was grounded in the same way (back of head and firewall) as the 67 390 /428 .

It' poorly documented (the drawing is compromised) in the 1969 Mustang Electrical Manual, page 11.

That grounding strap was found in 64.5-66 Mustangs as well. It is the primary grounding point for the battery to the chassis, and is essential for proper electrical operations. ;D

The black jacketed ground wire with white part number printing was on my car too.
The part number is different for SB & BB.
