Correct threaded studs corral horse?
« on: May 31, 2017, 09:59:09 AM »
Bought a NOS corral horse. Unfortunately when part arrived, one of the threaded studs was bended. No way to re-bend.

Does anybody know the some details?

Need to buy a new one.

- thread pitch?
- fine thread?
- inch? SAE #10? >> 4,8mm outer diameter?

Thx

It should be a 10-24X2.0 inch long stud with lead point tip ends. Your picture shows a slight lead point tip on your NOS Corral. I measured the studs from a 67 Corral at least 10 years ago but I am not sure about the lengths, it may be 1 1/8 inch long. The stud does not have known Ford part number. AMK does not carry it, but AMK does have two that "may" work, AMK B-12600 (1.0 inch - too short) or AMK B-12601 (1 7/8 inch, can be cut but wrong finish and lacks lead point).

Thx for your answer.

May be someone has such an original  stud for sale?

I'm looking for the one on the bottom side (middle)

Original length is around 2 inches ( 4,8cm).

Looks close:

Very easy to take a longer one and cut it down, add the lead point.(clasp the threaded rod in a power drill & file/grind it down as needed). These bolts are not in any "easy to see location" but I suppose a person could get it zinc plated also, within another order if they wanted the correct finish.
