AM/FM Radio push buttons
« on: July 08, 2017, 09:08:21 AM »
I would like to restore my 69 FoMoCo am/fm genuine mustang radio…  so my question is what other genuine ford radios of that period have the numbers 2057402 cast into the underneath of their black plastic push buttons.
Am buttons are a different size!
I can post a photo of mine if anyone can not understanding my question.

I don't know, but you could try looking at a bunch of different Ford radios on eBay and asking the sellers that question, saying you want to make sure you're getting the exactly correct radio.
They won't know you're going to cannibalize it, but you likely won't be buying that nice of a radio anyway, all that matters is nice plastic buttons.
Good hunting!

I had a nice scratch on one push button knob , sent to restoration shop and they sand and buff the scratch out , good as new!

Thanks for the replies 7Lscjracer and Wills70

I have lost 2 of the buttons due to disassembly for repairs that happened years ago.
The buttons I need are 18mm wide unlike the am philco buttons that are only 15mm

Well the button size is about right but it has no numbers like the example posted.  The radio is not a FoMoCo and is , I think, a Bendix.  Brian

Thanks Brian for posting.
You are correct in stating Bendix as the maker.
Stamped into the side of my radio is C9ZA 19A241 and below 9FBZ indicating it’s a Bendix.
It also has a large FoMoCo pressing underneath.
Brian do you know what ford your pictured radio originally came from as those buttons may possibly fit mine although the face on yours is slightly different to mine.
Thanks Kim.

Really can't be of much help.  This radio was in the car when I got it and I've never had it out.  The Marti states ' AM Radio ' so this one is a transplant.  This ID chart may be of some help ?  Brian

I don't know if this is P/C on this thread but I will be listing one on that "E" auction site sometime tomorrow that I would consider a parts radio. Lens is cracked and wires have been cut but it works and has the push buttons with those numbers on the bottom side if it helps. My seller name is the same as my name here. Sorry if I was incorrect with this.  Paul
