68 disc brakes
« on: February 11, 2011, 08:56:47 AM »
The disc brake dust shields that were on the car were unpainted and unvented. They are badly pitted and at best would need to be filled and painted. The reproductions are the vented style. I am not sure if Ford used any vented ones on the late 68s or if  vented ones were started with 69  model year? Marty

68s have unvented shields. They came painted and unpainted. I have been passing along to a well known parts reproducer the need for these as 98% of these I see are either badly pitted or damaged. Hopefully they will get done.

I have several sets of clean unpitted original 68 shields if anyone needs them.  If I remember correct they will have a small FoMoCo stamping on them as well....

The disc brake dust shields for 1968 (non-vented) and 1969-1973 (vented) Mustang/Cougar applications are almost finished.  Production has started and I should have parts to sell in a few weeks.

Thanks Scott they are a much needed part. Do yours have the FoMoCo stamp? Probably a silly question knowing your parts.

Can't believe this post is 6 years old. Shows the amount of work and time to get a quality part done. Good lesson to those who complain about cost of quality reproduction parts.  I find myself saying this often, thank you Scott for stepping up

Do yours have the FoMoCo stamp?
FYI 2 styles of stamping for 68 shields. FoMoCo block and Ford oval

Thanks Danny.

And not sure if I'll be stamping them with Ford/FoMoCo or not.  Got to get them stamped first.
