January Mustang Monthly "How to Win"
« on: January 25, 2010, 09:59:20 PM »
Nice job you guy's, that was a great article. Anyone new to Concourse Mustangs needs to read "How to Win" I spent lots of time asking questions and doing research to get some of those questions answered.

Just to clarify a couple of things Charles mentioned that door hinge bolts were never painted, is this on all years or only some? I know it states "never painted" I guess the reason for asking is that our 66 SJ Vert has never been dinged for that and I don't recall ever seeing it mentioned on the Judging sheet for Concourse Driven. Jeff mentioned that master cylinders should be painted all black (cap, booster, retainer and cylinder) were they painted on the car or not. In other words should the nuts be painted as well.

Again great job guy's we look forward to meeting you all at the Grand National.

I can only speak for sure on the 69-70 model door hinges, the hinge bolts are all painted as the doors were on the car when the car was painted. If you remove a original door hinge it will be bare metal behind the door and the hinge. The same applies to the trunk hinge as it was also painted with the unibody, so the mounting bolts for the hinges to the lid and body are painted.

It was a typo in the article.

Can I find the "How to Win" article or a link to it on here? Would love to read it esp because I am about to restore my brake booster.
Thanks.
