1965 1966 Restored Door shells
« on: July 28, 2009, 07:13:08 PM »
I have a few door shells for sale that have been professionally restored and are ready for paint. They are date code correct for 1965 -66 years.

These were chemically dipped to remove all old paint and rust and then were gone over for dents/ dings before being primered with an epoxy primer sealer.
The infamous front lower corner was given particular attention to make sure all old deterioration was removed before the primer sealer was applied.

They can be shipped anywhere in the continental U.S.

They are in EXCELLENT condition.  Of the 5 I have, 3 (1 left,2 Rt) are  10s. The other left and Rt doors are 9s as they have a slight dent near the weatherstripping line at the hinge side.  Neither would be noticeable once the trim and panels were installed.  The 10s are $500 each, the 9s are $450 each.  Please email for detailed pics.

It is my understanding that the hinge bolts are different sizes from 1965 to 1966.....I guess it wouldn't make any difference if a car wasn't being built for concours competition though.

You are correct. I believe the 65 used a 3/8" bolt whereas the 66 utilized a 5/16" bolt. (or was it the other way around...I can't remember)
The hinge mounting plates can be readily changed from one size to the other.
