Title: pinch weld jack adapter
Post by: socalgt on July 24, 2017, 03:29:33 PM
Wondering if this wouldn't prevent the unwanted bends/dents in the subframe if used.....anyone try these?

Those are for the pinch weld, the frames rails are not as strong for jack use. I've used a 3/8 inch thick hard rubber pad on top of the jack (and jack stands).

I used something similar.  I took a 2x4 piece of lumber and cut out a slot that fitted the entire pinch weld.  I then used my 4 point hoist to support the lumber.  Worked extremely well.  You can see the end of it here:

I think you could use a couple of hockey pucks and cut a slot in them. Probably cost about $5.

My 1970 Mach 1 is sitting on 4 10 ton jack stands with those same adapters (gives me a good height to start removing the cowl), they work well.
