Title: 69 GT350 Engine Block VIN
Post by: Dougxbr on November 13, 2017, 01:56:22 PM
Starting to document all the build codes and tags on my (new to me) 69 GT350. Found the engine block VIN yesterday and it's "9F 18xxxx" - I was expecting "9F 48xxxx" based on the "first 2 last 6" I've read elsewhere.
The "1" is pretty solid, so I don't think it's fainted number issue. Is this correct?

Thanks, Doug

If all but the "1" matches I think you have a pretty good case for a misstamp

They happen, though its much easier when they match up the way they should

Thanks guys. Here's a picture from my low-light, contorted position under the car. It's #0170. There's no mistaking the leading "1". Date code is 9L18 which aligns to the build date for this car. (Jeff - I'm building my case ...)

Sorry - build date is 8L19 (car was built on 20 Dec 1968).
