Autolite 4100 Hot Idle Compensator

(1/2) > >>

Tiny:
I've got a 6Z E Autolite 4100 fitted on my 289 66 GT Coupe.  It does not have a Hot Idle Compensator fitted.  Were they only fitted to cars with Air Conditioning and/or big block engines only?  Trying to make the car as correct/original as possible.

thanks for your help

C6ZF-D and C6ZF-E  are California emissions carburetors and normally came with Compensator in air horn.

Tiny:
great, thanks for you response.  Much appreciated.  Were they fitted mainly to California vehicles because of the continuous hot weather?

Guess we're going to need more info from you.

You report that you have a 66 GT  and a C6ZF-E carb  on it.

Where are you looking for a idle compensator to be installed at or on?

Additional information that would help (might consider adding your cars info as part of your signature) Where was the car built?  When was it built? Accessories - AC?  Thermactor?  Transmission?

Tiny:
The details of the vehicle are, 1966 A Code GT Coupe.  Automatic, built in San Jose with a DSO 72.  Its a Sept/Oct 65 build as the date stamps on the panels and info on the steering box suggests. The door tag is not original I believe as it show it as an April build. No AC fitted.

The Hot Idle Compensator I have attached an image showing the item in question.  I'm only researching this question as I want to make the car as correct as possible so I'm curious as to whether my car would have had one attached.  Hope this info has helped.
