Part number question/application

What cars would this p/n fit?  Is this a front or rear part number?  C1UZ-18124-B  also has a hand written letter "D" after the "B". Thank You

Source: 1965  QUICK REFERENCE CATALOG Pg 424.  C1UZ 18124-B is a front shock for the 61-65 Econoline/with 2300 lb. axle.  ' D ' is not referenced with this part number.  ' D ' is used with the F series truck front shock; F 100, 250 and 350.   Brian

OK, thank you for the info.  I had a feeling that it wasn't a passenger car application.

I worked at the Detroit Parts Distribution Center in Redford MI.  I started in '66 and my uncle called me.  Came back in '70 and was there till '73.  I worked on dealer returns for a while.  We could not accept any part that had another number written on it.  Also, the tags were special paper and the font was unique.  There was one guy that had access to the machine to print the labels.  Had some real interesting things occur doing that job.  Caught one guy that lost his dealer franchise for what he did.  You would never guess how many AM-FM radios came back.  Inside was a brick or a AM radio and once some rocks.  The dealers tried to pull every trick in the book.  I was bribed once.  Oh, the good old days.

I bet that was an interesting job and that you have many great stories.  I sell OE parts for  Honda and Mercedes Benz; Honda is very particular about the packaging etc of returned parts.  It's amazing what some of your dealers tried to get away with and how Ford punished those that were caught.

3)  I believe you !   I worked for a dealer that bought out another (Buick) dealer in the eighties.  There were stacks of AC Delco Radios (on the books)   In the boxes were all AM take outs!   (Some of the Am/FM Cassette high end sound listed for over $1000.00 in a Caddy)

C4AZ63C is my handle.  C4AZ is 1964 full size Ford and 63C is a 2 dr hard top.  It is after my 1964 Galaxie 2 dr 500XL.  Sold it a couple years back.  Now I have a 66 GT350 clone with a Paxton and a 2011 GT500 SVT pkg.

Boy - should have said fastback body !  Will watch for you in MI again.   I'd say to watch for this - but off to Australia.


Great example of why AZ is the place to buy in January.   (Just not at the auctions - CL in Tucson, 20K)

Just a point of clarification, body style 63 (any letter) for 64 (and a whole bunch of other years) is classified by Ford as a 2 door hardtop Fastback. It is also the current referenced body style number on all new Mustangs that are not convertibles (type 76). Body stye 57 was the pure hardtop. Welcome to the Fastback club (heh heh heh).

OK, OK - 63C is a Galaxie 500XL 2 door fastback .  This means that it had bucket seats and a console.  Also the back seat had a speaker grill between the seats.  I still have hoods, trunk lids, patch panel and glass left from the project.  This what I get for typing faster than I can think.
