Title: Carb. to manifold spacer color

Is the carb. to manifold spacer on a June '65 built Metuchen build 289 black in color or left natural?  I have seen it both ways.

most i have seen are/were natural. sometimes with a hint of block color overspray.

I've only seen them with block color, fading to the top, but natural or block color are acceptable.
