C4 leak
« on: February 22, 2018, 12:35:49 PM »
Chasing a transmission leak in a 1966 with a 289 and a C4. Thought at first it was the output shaft seal, judging by the puddle on the floor. Upon closer inspection it appears to be coming from the end of the slip yoke.
 Has anybody encountered this before?

            Thanks, Pete.

Not on a Ford but on brand X cars.
If confirmed, a person could remove the yoke from the driveshaft and clean, media blast the center disc area and fill with JB Weld.

That sounds like a great idea. I dug out an old yoke and guess I never realized there is a small 'puck' in the end. I'm assuming for machining.

 Thanks,  Pete.

Haha...thanks for the advice. JB weld worked like a charm!
