Thought this was a discussion and you were offering what you found and believe was original to your dads car.

Am I missing something?

Common practice has not been to accept every individual finding as an end, but the beginning of the exploring, documenting, discussing and hopefully a common understanding.


Just to go a little further into the history of the car - was if ever taken to the dealership for servicing or fixing of anything?

............Except for '66 which has a zinc dichromate lid when the decal was applied to a disc brake MC, body would have been black though.

Have seen a fair number of decals over black painted caps on original cars
