I will be making the long drive there to help judge and for the judges meeting.

I've heard you would be "In Columbus Oh." before...Maybe you'll stay long enough we might actually bump into each other this time ;)

I plan on driving our '05 GT Vert down, unless it happens to be a wash-out of rain. Either way, I'll be there. Not registered to "SHOW" because I wasn't aware how fast the limit would be achieved (note to self~ "REGISTER EARLY next time")

Maybe we could do a "meet & greet" somewhere for Concours Members? It would be nice if we had a good way of identifying each other, any ideas?

I was able to register for the Columbus Zoo Cruise and Dinner at 5:00 PM Fri. plus the(2) Pre-Award Brunch @ 7:00AM - 11:00AM on the Sunday. I plan to drive home after the awards, if they do not run extremely long.

Will this be an indoor judged show?
I don't always downshift, but when I do it is near a Prius so they can hear me hurting the environment.

not that i am aware of but it would be a good idea to have a meet & greet somewhere.

Don't know the area or site so can't suggest where might be a good spot. Of course this would mean that those interested would have to skip one of the events the hosting club has put together. Guessing late afternoon or evening on Friday would be best for those attending.

Friday afternoon 4:30 pic.  Looks ominous.

It WAS ominous! We were across town at the ZOO when the storm struck, high winds and fast moving, heavy rain. :'( Lots and lots of people will be drying out in the a.m., I saw many getting judged today so that helps some I am sure.

Our '05 GT got his hooves wet on the drive down this morning. First time ever using the wipers  >:( >:(  Oh well, it will all clean up with another what? 10 hours?

Really bad weather, like the load-in at SAAC 40 in the huge rain storm, what a mess.

As ugly as Friday's storm was, I'm glad it wasn't worse. Trash cans were blowing around the lot (plastic, fortunately) and one of the club members got cracked up pretty good by an inflatable entry way arch that was knocked around in the wind. For the life of me I don't understand why someone would put a car cover on with high winds coming. I saw them flapping furiously in the gales, beating on the paint, removing themselves from the cars and even costing one participant an antenna mast. If there's bad hail, the cover wont help and then you have to deal with a sopping wet cover after the rain. I don't even bring one anymore.

Saturday was much better, even if hot. By the time we were done judging a cool place and cool drink looked like heaven. An awful lot of real nice cars were in that field.

It has been a while since I attended a judged technical concours type event that wasn't indoors.  I know MCA is probably way too large to do it, but anymore, I have a hard time considering taking my cars to anything that is not inside.  Some cars are just too expensive and in concours judging too many judges are clean freaks who want to judge a cleaning contest and not just technical correctness and originality.

 8) I enjoyed the weekend as a whole. (remove the rain)

I was permitted to help out on a judging team and learned a lot sitting through the Judges meeting beforehand.

I saw quite a few cars I had heard a little about here on the forum, that was a nice bonus.

ONLY regret? Not meeting as many frum members as I had hope to. Since I know nobody by face, and if you were not intruduced in any of the meetings, I wouldn't have a clue I was standing next to anyone I know well from here.

Seeing Marty Rupp's 67 11/4/66 built in San Jose convertible in person was really nice. (built same location, 2 days later than mine) A lot of detail picked up on while viewing it will help me with my example. I noticed because of the DSO being different, that many features under the hood are different.

It would be nice to one day find a 67 Coupe that was originally equipped with Deluxe Interior and a few of the options I have on my 67 coupe one day...I know they are out there but the ONLY one I have ever seen was over 20 years ago in a parking lot in California. The AMAZING phenomina that at any given show, I ALWAYS see Luxury Fastbacks (17,391 built) and Luxury Convertibles (4,848 built) but NEVER any of the 22,228 Luxury Coupe's made in 1967. My only conclusion is that the vast majority of the Coupes must have been scarificed into DONOR VEHICLES to outfit the minority of fastbacks & convertibles sold with the standard interiors. Otherwise,WHERE are all of the Luxury Coupes? There should be MORE than any of the other two body styles.

Great weekend! (again, except Friday's rain)
