Title: 1969 Boss 302 Snorkel I.D.
Post by: 69supercj on August 15, 2022, 10:40:47 AM
Tried the search and nothing came up. I'm trying to figure out if I have a 428 CJ snorkel or a B2 snorkel. I recently bought a CJ heat shield and my S tube will not fit over the snorkel flange and it looks like it has a stepped extension factory spot welded to the larger opening. Did the 1969 B2's have a stepped down flange?

Both the 1969 Boss 302 and the 390 share the same snorkel with the step down. The step down is spot welded into place. If you were to remove the the step down the snorkel would then be correct for a 428CJ.

Well it appears I have the boss 302/390 style snorkel. Anybody have an idea of the value of the reducer because I really don?t want to sell or trade snorkels because I would have to repaint.
