Source for Vintage Keychain?
« on: April 12, 2014, 06:23:05 PM »
I'm getting down to the small misc stuff now.

Does anybody know a source of vintage keychains. Something that would be like what would have been used in the mid to late 60's. Could be generic or Ford / Mustang specific.

Thanks.

Ebay would be a good place to look, I have seen them on there before.

Fortunately, I kept the one I bought in 1969 and use it still today. It's generic, don't remember where I got it. It has a round black leather backing with a round metal medallion attached. On the metal is the mustang and tri-bar design.

I have around a 100 or so that I collected as a kid from 1964 - 1967. I'll look through them to see if anything unique sticks out that might be nice for your car. If so, I'll post a picture.

I use a leather key fob with the round Mustang running horse and tribars.  I found some in a local key shop.  They are still out there.   8)

This is what they were handing out in San Diego.   Small, dark blue, leather and the keys were permanently riveted to the case.  I am sure this was a generic FORD product as they were quite common place.   Brian

+1 Same thing here, I've already been looking for something nostalgic and '67 in vintage too! Great topic!

Do you have any specifically from Lutz Ford ?

Well, of all the key chains I have, only one is car related and it's of an Opel. The remaining are from the mid 60's but none that capture something of the time...just generic.

I remember when my parents bought the 65 new my Dad had to have
another set of keys made, the running horse key had too small of a
hole for his keychain, he had keys cut at the store that had a larger hole.
Boy, strange things we remember!
