Mach 1 shaker hood stripe

What is the correct width of the center strip at the back of the hood?  This is for a 351 Shaker June 10, 1970 build at DAP.  I believe it should tapper to 14.5" at the front edge but I have seen various sizes claimed for the rear.  15.25"?   the stencil I have puts it at 16.25"

Based on the one angle I can see of a 428 car in the unrestored thread the stripe extends out about 1/2? wider than the shaker trim ring.  So if the trim ring is 14 3/4? that would put the stripe at 15-3/4? with some slight tapper wider going back.  This leads me to believe the stencil I have at 16? is actually probably correct.

Correction my stencil is 16-0?
