« on: January 14, 2024, 04:36:12 AM »
There is a piece missing from this LHS weatherstrip.  Is that how it should be?
Dirty laundry list:

'70 XW GS Fairmont Diamond White, auto, 40k miles
'71 Boss 351 fastback Grabber Yellow 5k miles

What do you think is wrong?
It looks like it has a D1ZZ part number with a Ford logo.

It is supposed to be one piece.  The tab with the screw hole is forward in door hinge area.
The rear, unfinished end tucks down inside quarter area.  No hard attachment.

I do not recall the notched out area?
It appears to be in the quarter window transition area.
I do not see it on my installed NOS original weatherstrip. Its been years since I installed it, and its compressed.
I looked at reproductions, and they do not have this notch. They do have a small hole in the
transition area probably so it give more flexibility around the corner.
