Working on a '70 boss 302. My boss wants to put a set of the correct tires on the car.
The '70 boss came exclusively with F-60 Goodyear Polyglass, correct?

According to MCA
F60x15 no-size Goodyear before Dec 1, 1969 built cars
Post Dec 1 built cars with size in raised white letters
-
F60x15 no-size Goodyear
No-size or No-side?
No-size doesn't make sense with F60x15 sizing.

Concours or judging speak. Compares the highly visible raised white letters with or without size included
Added to my earlier post showing the change over date since OP didn't provide when their car was built :(

FYI they may look vintage but the ride and handling will suffer significantly (at the very least) compared to even to the cheapest modern radial tire.Just so your Boss knows. Most people have no idea how much different the car will drive. OK for a show car but not one that you want to pleasure drive IMO. I am not saying they are poor reproductions in fact they are fantastic re issue of the original by Goodyear made just like and drive just like they did back in the day. It is just that tire technology is one of the things that has advanced the most in 50 years IMO. Best of luck what ever you decide.

Jeff S. I have documented nov 69 built cars ford & mopar having the F-60-15 SIZE tires from factory & 1 low mile 1970 b9 built late oct 69 having F-60-15 tires with the size in white letters somay have to depend on how tire inventory was shipped & stored & if a new shipment went straight to the Dearborn assembly plant as after talking to John S.who worked at akron oh goodyear plant he say tires were shipped 50 to a pallet by train to Dearborn plant.

So are we changing the understand of what is the correct original tires for the general production period or are these exceptions to the "rule" ?
Just asking about Fords built at the three plants - not other places or Mopars ::)

where did the dec 1 changeover come from?

where did the dec 1 changeover come from?
Good question and I should have posted where that info came from since it's not my research. Added where if came from in the post

According to Goodyear prints from John Kelsey the tire size in RWL was a was a late November 69 production change. I would like to see an original tire with size in RWL prior to Nov. 1969? The date code on the tire is the truth teller.

the polyglas' drive fine in the city- BUT- on the highway you gotta' be careful . ruts in the pavement forces the car left and right. keeps you wide awake! can't beat the look! 150 mile drive south to Seattle show last july. in my Boss 302 -nice talking to you Jeff at Marcus' open house

Talked to John Kelsey at Tulsa ford meet & I gave him the 4 tire date codes 2- JE91G28 1-JE91H38 1 JE91G38 off original 4700mi. Jan Byrds KK 2296 invoiced 10-27-1969 & 11-7-1969 . He called today & told me he decoded the dates all 4 goodyear F-60-15 polyglas gt with the size nov 1969 akron oh. plant. This is the earliest built car I have found having the f-60-15 white letters on the tire sidewall. So could this boss 429 have got some of the first with the size tire shipment as akron is only 150mi. or so from Dearborn or did the original wheels & tires get stolen when new while being transported & replaced later?
