I read that this option is a rare option, offered in 69' only. I think my window sticker shows it was $40.00.
Does anyone know how many were ordered with this option?

Rarity in the case does not necessarily mean desirable. Power vent was kind of a waste of money IMO having it in a number of cars over the years . The 69/70 GT500 4 speed cars could not get A/C as a option same as other 69 CJ 4 speed Mustangs . The power vent was the only alternative and it didn't help much . I am sorry that I can not help you with the number that were ordered.

Not very popular - dropped after that single model year
Kevin Marti could tell you or it might listed in his book - Mustang by the Numbers
Don't have a copy at my figure tips at the moment. Have a few friends with the option on their cars

Rich try Comfort Stream Ventilation. It came with a 40.02 price tag. It may have got coined "Power Vent" because the dash control had a position marked "Power Vent." I do see it called out as Power Ventilation though on some option price lists here and that is what was called out on my 69 R code 4 speed Cobra that had it. It is not listed at all in Kevin Marti's Mustang...by the Numbers book.

Kevin must have chosen not to include it in that book
Know its included on a number of Marti reports I have copies of. Looks like one of them states 546 cars (its a little blurry)

Thanks everyone for all the replies.
I explained it to my wife as, well in stead of just the windows open you can blast hot air in your face from the center dash vents, LOL.
At $40.02 it was quite expensive back in the day.

Better explanation ? From the ' 69 FORD MUSTANG Illustrated Facts Book ' Pg. 17. Brian

this system is more complex than you think as it has vaccum operated hot water shut off valve on intake & a special heater motor with a lower hose under it going to firewall & center dash vent system & switches etc. Some where years ago I read that the power vent option is available on all mustangs except convertibles BUT it is on THE purple scj Shelby convertible! :)

It doesn't matter if complex or not because it was worthless ether way IMO.

WORTHless I think it was a KOOL non power robbing option that makes a car WORTH more (not just because its on MY car) 8)

Casting number cast into plastic is C9ZA-18C299-B.
Older thread, but deserves some additional documentation for future needs.

And this is the special hose that comes off the heater motor.
